Thai government steps in to bring down pork price

July 31, 2020

Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce has set the price of domestic pork at USD 4.12/kg effective 24 July. The ministry held meetings with various companies and associations  such as the Swine Raisers Association, Thai Fresh Market Association, Makro, Tesco Lotus, Big-C, Central Food Retail, and the Mall, to seek their cooperation in maintaining the set price. This will help reduce prices in the market and supermarket. Asian Agribiz found that on 27 July the pork price was USD 4.12/kg and USD 4.76 for tenderloin.
