Ronnie Tan, a board member at the California-based biotechnology firm Calysta said the success of Singapore’s aquaculture depends on the maximum amount producers could harvest without flooding the market. In a webinar organized by aquaculture accelerator Hatch, he said,“You don’t want a situation where prices fluctuate daily. The critical factor is the carrying capacity of the market for a particular species on a daily basis.” The panel discussed challenges faced by aquaculture companies in the region.
