Indonesia’s feed wheat use expected to decline to 1.8 mt

Many wheat mills in Indonesia, which also import wheat for sale to the feed milling industry, are challenged by the higher domestic corn production combined with a weaker rupiah that has lowered domestic corn prices relative to imported wheat used for feed. US Department of Agriculture in its report said additionally, weaker feed demand from the poultry industry has further cut into demand for wheat as a feed ration component. Therefore, wheat for feed use is expected to decline to 1.8 mt in 2019/20 and remain stable in 2020/21.
