Wet markets essential for lower income groups

Selangor state’s Exco for Local Government/New Village Development Ng Sze Han told Asian Agribiz: “Wet markets are essential for traders/consumers in households with income below USD 702/month. Their livelihoods will be crushed if we close wet markets. The wet market platform provides business opportunities for small traders as well as cheaper goods for consumers.”
