Indonesia earns USD 31m from pig exports to Singapore

June 18, 2020

Indonesia’s pig export value to Singapore in the first five months of 2020 reached USD 31 million from USD 27 million in the same period of last year. The exports were by Indotirta Suaka of Salim Group with pig farming facilities in Bulan Island. Raden Nurcahyo Nugroho, Head of the Agricultural Quarantine Agency in Tanjungpinang, said the export value increase was due to higher demand from Singapore. In March, when pork/pig exports from Malaysia were affected by the country’s lockdown, Indotirta doubled its live pig exports to Singapore to 1800 heads/day.
