The government of Spain received a system accreditation to export pork and beef to the Philippines until 2023. The Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) granted the accreditation, valid from April 2, 2020 to April 2, 2023, after it inspected foreign meat establishments in the European country. Data from the Bureau of Animal Industry show that Spain is the Philippines’ leading source of pork, accounting for 36% of the total. Last year, Spain shipped over 122,500 tons of pork to the Southeast Asian country.
