Indonesia’s Estika Tata Tiara recorded a 20% sales increase for processed meats, such as sausages, nuggets and meatballs, in the first quarter of this year. Sales of beef and cattle, meanwhile, dropped under 10%, said Yustinus Sadmoko, President Director of the beef cattle integrator and meat processor. “And due to exchange rate gap, our profit margin was depressed in Q1,” he added. To cope with new consumer habits over the pandemic, Estika decided to launch more ready-to-cook fresh meats packed in 0.5kg and 1kg.
