Online shopping gains ground in Vietnam as consumer behavior changes

Although Vietnam has reopened its economy, social distancing has reshaped consumer behavior in favor of online shopping. The USDA Gain report on ‘Covid-19 in Vietnam’ reported that a food store chain in Ho Chi Minh City boosted its average sales from USD 25,000 to USD 200,000 in March mainly from direct online orders. The report also said all online shopping platforms in Vietnam boosted delivery of essential goods, specifically food and beverages, during the pandemic.
