Bangladesh uses mobile stalls to sell USD5.6m worth meat in a day

The Bangladesh government has sold USD 5.6 million worth of fish and poultry in one day. The government operated mobile stalls across the country to bring goods from farmers to market. The lockdown in the country has left marginal farmers without market access. The government sold 2.64 million litres of milk, over 10 million eggs, nearly 1.5 million chicken, 36,777 ducks and pigeons, 400,000kg of fish as well as other animal-based food items.
