New Zealand’s Meat Industry Association noted an increase in meat exports to Malaysia (yoy). Sheepmeat accounted for a 131% increase with 3310 tons while beef export is up 3% by volume and 14% by value. Q1 2020 saw Malaysia’s sheepmeat imports up 171% to USD 36 million.”These statistics are pleasing, given the challenges and disruption to the supply chain as a result of Covid-19,” said Chief Executive Sirma Karapeeva. She attributed the country’s resilience and its recent USD 605 million monthly export value to strong global partnerships amidst difficult times.
