Indian meat suppliers continue to operate as cities go under lockdown

The Indian government has given meat and food suppliers special permission to operate as 80 cities around India go under lockdown. The cities include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore. Karnataka Poultry Framers and Breeders Association, President, Dr Sushanth Rai told Asian Agribiz that the Karnataka Government had allowed meat shops and markets to remain open. “The only issue is the low price of chicken at the moment. We are still supplying,” he said.
