by Isa Tan – Farm prices of chicken in the Philippines ranged between USD 0.80-1.10/kg as of March 23, several industry stakeholders told Asian Agribiz. This is down from USD 1.25-1.40/kg the previous week based on the United Broiler Raisers Association’s (UBRA) weekly price survey. UBRA President Elias Jose Inciong told Asian Agribiz that current production cost ranges between USD 1.50-1.70/kg. Asked why prices have fallen sharply, a poultry practitioner told Asian Agribiz that with school out and the existing community quarantine, demand for chicken has declined.
