March 25, 2020

Myanmar has launched a National Aquaculture Development Plan (NADP), providing an institutional framework for the sustainable development of this sector in the 2019 – 2023 period. The plan targets a growth of 33% with a budget of USD 125 million, allocated during this period. “As Myanmar’s aquaculture sector reduces its reliance on capture fish, the NADP will highlight the list of actionable priorities to address the needs and utilize the tangible benefits of the sector”, said Agriculture Minister U Aung Thu.
