Mass poultry culling in Mysore as India reports fourth AI outbreak

Mass culling were carried out in Metagalli and Kumbarakoppal in Mysore, after birds in local farms tested positive for the H5N1 avian influenza (AI) virus. The Department of Animal Husbandry culled almost 6500 birds up to 1km from the epicenter of the infection. All meat stalls within 10km of the affected area have been disinfected. This is the fourth case of AI reported in India this year.
