Fall armyworm attacks result in USD0.5m loss in Garut

Fall armyworm attacks on 1150 hectares of corn in Garut Regency, West Java, has resulted in a loss of more than USD 500,000. An area of 6195 hectares is under threat, according to the Head of the Agricultural Service Beni Yoga. Garut has the most widespread fall armyworm attack in West Java compared to 17 other regions suffering the scourge. “To anticipate the threat of fall armyworm attacks more broadly, we continue to work to prevent and respond to the development of these attacks,” he said.
