Indonesia invites Japan to invest in fish farming

Indonesian President Joko Widodo is inviting Japan to invest in the fish farming sector in Natuna Regency. This will support Indonesia’s move to increase its fish production. Natuna Regency is known to have fishery potential. Potential lies with farming of grouper, cod, anchovies, mackerel, yellowtail, white shrimp, tiger shrimp, crab, squid, and cuttlefish. Based on data from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, squid has become a marine commodity with the most potential yield of 23,000 tons/year.
