Banas Dairy in India breaks Asian milk records in 2019

Asia’s largest dairy cooperative, the Banaskantha District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd in Gujarat, India broke records, procuring the highest quantity of milk last year. The cooperative also known as Banas Dairy procured 6.9 million litres of milk per day in 2019, a slight increase over 2018. The cooperative reported that Dhanera taluka in Banaskantha was the highest milk supplier to the Dairy. Dhanera was also helped by milk from Rajasthan. Banas Dairy is planning on making it into a ‘dairy unit’, equivalent to a branch of the cooperative.
