CP Foods targets for 100% sustainable food packaging by 2030

Thailand’s CP Foods is switching to eco-friendly packages to reduce plastic waste, with  target to use 100% sustainable materials by 2030. The company launched Sustainable Packaging Design and Development Projects to redesign its packaging. Raw chicken products’ multi-layer plastic is being replaced with a single layer package that is smaller and 100% recyclable, using 43% less plastic. CP Foods is the first company in Thailand to use plant-based Polylactic Acid (PLA) trays, a compostable bioplastic made from natural renewable resources in pork products and chilled raw chicken.
