Indonesia, China to strengthen seafood trade

Indonesia and China are looking to strengthen their bilateral trade of seafood following a meeting between Indonesia’s Minister of Fisheries & Marine Affairs and China’s Ambassador to Indonesia. Ambassador Xiao Qian said China imports 4 mt of seafood annually and 5% is from Indonesia. “Indonesia can optimize this opportunity considering its huge fishery resource,” he said. Meanwhile Minister Edhy Prabowo hopes China can help in terms of technology to increase aquaculture production and seafood processing.
