South Korea lifts ban on EU beef after 20 years

October 9, 2019

South Korea has lifted a ban on EU beef and beef products. These products can now be exported to the East Asian country for the first time in almost 20 years, the European Commission announced. Danish and Dutch producers are the first to resume exports to South Korea, which imposed trade restrictions in 2001 in response to a BSE outbreak. The European Commission said it will continue to work with South Korean authorities to secure market access for the remaining member states.
