Umara Group, a prominent Indonesian caterer is building a central kitchen in Jakarta with a capacity of up to 20 tons of ready meals per month. Syamsul Arifin, Quality Assurance Director told Asian Agribiz that the facility is expected to start commercial production in April next year. The company currently offers 12 variants of frozen ready-to-eat chicken, beef, cattle offal, squid and tuna side-dishes. “Once our central kitchen is ready, we will also produce rice-based ready meals for budget hotels and other markets. Packaging will be by Multivac,” he said.
