Indonesia’s Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, together with 12 Indonesian seafood exporters, are optimistic of booking export transactions of USD 42.6 million from their recent participation at the Japan International Seafood and Technology Expo. They promoted a variety of tuna, shrimp and tilapia; pasteurized clam, crab and shrimp; and unagi kabayaki. “Japan is our second biggest export market after the US. Last year we exported seafood valued at USD 676.6 million to Japan, or 13.9% from our total seafood export value,” said Machmud, Seafood Marketing Director at the ministry.
