India is AI free

The Indian Government has declared the country to be free from Avian Influenza as of September 3, 2019. In a circular issued by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying to all States, the government explained that they had contained outbreaks in the epicentres in Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The Indian government has also notified the OIE of the development. There have been no further reports of outbreaks since the containment operations. Surveillance for AI however, is to continue.
