The Delhi government in India will roll out a state level action plan to control the spread of anti-microbial resistance through food. The plan will bring together several departments and they have proposed measures such as the food safety department testing food samples, especially meat and seafood, for antibiotics. The Delhi Jal Board will also test water samples. Delhi’s drug safety department has written to the chemist association to ensure that all drug stores across the city do not dispense drugs without proper prescriptions.
