Leong Hup International (LHI) is eyeing to lead the “ready-to-eat” (RTE) segment in Singapore as demand grows with rising incomes and busy lifestyles. The 7-11 stores on the island already carry four RTE products from LHI and CEO Lau Joo Hwa said more will be introduced soon. The company holds a 50% market share in fresh chicken supply to brands like KFC, Nando’s, Texas Chicken and Jollibee. The Singapore operations are focused on growing the downstream business, including supplying fresh chicken to f&b outlets and manufacturing poultry and RTE products.
