Demand for poultry in Sri Lanka contracts

The demand for poultry in Sri Lanka has dropped by around 40% in the last two months. All Island Poultry Association, President, Ajith Gunasekera told Asian Agribiz, the Easter Sunday Bombings that impacted the country’s economy and tourism sector has spilled into the poultry sector. “The greatest impact is felt by small and medium producers. We have asked the government for relief in terms of concessionary loans and debt relief until the industry recovers in the near future”, he said.
