Indonesia forms alliance for responsible, sustainable tuna industry

A new tuna alliance in Indonesia called One-on-One Indonesia Tuna Allianze was officially launched during the Seafood Expo Global in Brussels, Belgium. According to Saut Tampubolon, Executive Director of the Indonesian Fisheries Community Foundation (MDPI), the new alliance is important for all stakeholders in the tuna industry in Indonesia to work towards a responsible and sustainable industry. The alliance is backed by three organizations that support sustainable tuna catching practices. Indonesia is currently the global leader in one-by-one caught tuna and catches more than 100,000 tons using pole & line and handline methods.
