Manokwari in West Papua needs a feedmill

May 17, 2019

The local government of Manokwari in West Papua, Indonesia is trying to lobby the Ministry of Industry to allocate funds for the setup of an animal feedmill in the regency. According to Kukuh Saptoyudo, Head of Agriculture & Food Security Agency in Manokwari, the plan was to be realized in 2014, but was cancelled. “A feedmill in this regency will offer many benefits. It will drive the development of corn and soybean farming, and by-products from the fishery industry can also be utilized. Moreover, we can produce eggs and broilers locally,” he added.
