February 11, 2019

Phnom Penh has just received a USD 17.1 million aid from the US Department of Agriculture via the Commercialization of Aquaculture for Sustainable Trade project. This is to increase the availability of fish seed and feed. The project, implemented in five years until 2023 aims to boost the growth of the local aquaculture sector. It will feature the use of soy as a feed ingredient, according to Michael E Newbill, Charge d’affaires at the US embassy in Cambodia. By forming value chains, the project will benefit all of the stakeholders in the industry and relieve the pressure on wild capture.
