Indonesia’s corn production is predicted to reach 33 mt this year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. Maman Suherman, Secretary at the Directorate General of Food Crops at the ministry, said this year’s corn harvests will be good. The Q1 production of 9.8mt is believed to be enough to meet demand from the feed industry, which is around 1.5 mt/month, said Mr Suherman. On corn export, he said the Philippines and Malaysia are still export destinations. These two countries need around 1 mt and 3 mt of corn per year, respectively.
