Thai Beverage Public Company Limited (ThaiBev) is pressing ahead with its strategy to further expand its food business. The company plans to open 30 new KFC outlets and operate an extensive network of 300 KFC stores nationwide by 2019, according to Nongnuch Buranasetkul, Senior Vice President and Food Business Chief for Thailand. Up to 19 branches of Japanese restaurants under the Oishi Group will also be opened. ThaiBev expects to generate up to USD 468.34 million revenue from the overall food business growth. In 2017, the spirits giant sealed a deal with Yum Restaurants International to buy 252 KFC outlets in Thailand for USD 470.25 million.
