Indonesia’s aqua feed producer Leong Hup Jayaindo has ventured into shrimp feed production to diversify its offerings. General Manager Sutopo told Asian Agribiz: “We see potential in the shrimp farming sector in Indonesia. The price of shrimp is relatively stable with good profit margins. Plus it has government support because of its export potential. Previously we focused only on catfish, carp, pangasius and tilapia feeds.” Mr Sutopo claims that its ‘Go Shrimp’ branded shrimp feed is gaining ground. The product is used at shrimp farms in Java, Sulawesi and Lampung. “The quality is good, the price is competitive, and the packaging design is attractive,” he said.
