Indonesia’s aquaculture sector will have to embrace Industry 4.0. To prepare for this, Slamet Soebjakto, Director General of Aquaculture at the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs told Asian Agribiz in Jakarta, that the ministry has prepared four strategies. “First, is efficiency and added value along the production chain based on inter-connectivity. Second, is an efficient logistics system to improve supply-demand management which will allow players access to accurate information. Third, is an efficient production system through digitalization. And fourth, we are improving our aquaculture database,” he explained. Mr Soebjakto believes shrimp will be the first commodity to embrace the transformation.
