West Kalimantan destroys poultry products smuggled from Malaysia

The Agriculture Quarantine Station in Entikong, West Kalimantan, Indonesia recently destroyed 1200 eggs and 70kg of frozen chicken smuggled from Malaysia. Khaerudin, Sub-head of Operational Services at the station said the action was taken to prevent the spread of avian influenza. “Strengthening control at the border line is important because West Kalimantan is free from avian influenza,” he said.
