The 11 Indonesia’s poultry breeding companies, which were slapped with fines in October last year over alleged cartel practices, have won their appeal against the decision. The West Jakarta District Court has accepted the appeal of the 11 companies involved in the case and revoked the verdict passed in October last year. The court also declared that the 11 companies had not violated the cartel regulations. Indonesia’s anti-monopoly watchdog said on October 13 last year that 12 poultry companies, including Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, Japfa Comfeed Indonesia and Malindo Feedmill were guilty of cartel practices. Of these, Charoen Pokphand Indonesia and Japfa Comfeed Indonesia were handed the biggest fines of USD 1.85 million each.
