Fajar Mitra Indah, the operator of FamilyMart in Indonesia, targets to have 150 outlets by 2018. This year alone, the company targets to open 30 new outlets and 50 new outlets in 2018. “We already have 79 outlets,” said Dominic Kusniadi, Property Division Head. In Indonesia, the convenience store chain secures locations close to office centres, schools, hotels and trade centres. The outlets are now spread in Greater Jakarta and are popularly known for ready meals and fresh food. “We actively communicate with our consumers, develop new products, follow online communities and increase our services in order to strengthen our brand,” said Mr Kusniadi. In future, the company will consider expanding through a franchise system.
