US raw material exports to the Philippines seen to increase

October 27, 2017

The Philippines’ rapidly expanding production of processed foods and beverages presents robust opportunities for US exporters of agricultural raw materials and high-value ingredients. A USDA report said the local processed food industry’s gross value-added output increased 10% in 2016 over the previous year to USD28.9 billion. About 90 % of the industry’s output is consumed domestically. The top US agricultural raw materials and ingredients that are expected to increase in the coming years are poultry cuts including chicken feet, mechanically deboned meat, trimmings and beef offal, milk and whey powder, cheese and other dairy products.
